Project 5.

Project 5 is a system that was installed in the largest single aircraft hangar space in Europe – Hangar 6 is 24,000 sqm where they service multiple 747 and 737 aircraft at one time.

The building operates 90 hours a week. Previously in winter, after door openings to provide aircraft movements in and out of the building, the building would take up to 24 hours to recover building comfort back to +19oC using the warm air system.

In 2008 The HV Warm Air System consumed 26.93.m kW/hrs Gas with Gas and Power costing €676,655.00p for the season.

The SIGMA III GOLD High Efficiency Radiant Heating System provides comfort for aircraft maintenance fitters with a guaranteed recovery in the building after aircraft movements back to +19oC air temperature in 15 mins.

GE Heating Gas Guarantee was 80% = 5.4m kW/hrs/season

In Season 2009 the actual Gas Consumed = 2.42m kW/hrs/season

With the increased Building Comfort and control Energy Savings against the Old System are 91.14%

Saving the Customer Gas & Power €595,955.00p in per season.
